More and more people have a smartphone and more heritage institutions have responded by apps, develop mobile sites or games. New applications on almost a weekly basis developed that heritage institutions can reinforce its communication and public outreach and / or expand. Augmented reality is often (unfairly) considered as trend setting and many steps in this technique without considering the question whether Augmented Reality it really is the best technique for pursuing the goals.
Employees of small and medium-sized museums with limited knowledge in ICT, but which are responsible for communication as ordering museum and developer.
Understand the aspects of Augmented Reality; the Kansas, possibilities and the limitations of your collection and organization.
The theoretical basis of AR in this workshop laid and discusses the possibilities and impossibilities of AR within the heritage. The latter on the basis of clear examples of both heritage- as non-heritage sector. Of course, during this workshop the question: “Why and when should my heritage institution with AR can or should work?” central. During this workshop you will work, addition to plenary sessions, in small groups on their own case.
